- Concentration, titration, yield & atom economy
Focus: Multi-step calculations & clear scientific explanations.
WEEK 2 – Chemical Changes & Energetics
- Reactivity series & extraction
- Oxidation & reduction
- Acids, bases & salts (required practical)
- Electrolysis (molten & aqueous)
- Exothermic/endothermic reactions
- Energy profiles & bond energy calculations
Focus: Writing ionic equations + evaluation-style 6-mark answers.
WEEK 3 – Rates, Equilibrium & Organic Chemistry
- Collision theory & rate experiments
- Dynamic equilibrium & Le Chatelier’s Principle
- Haber process (industrial evaluation)
- Crude oil & fractional distillation
- Alkanes, alkenes & polymerisation
- Alcohols & carboxylic acids (Separate depth)
Focus: Graph interpretation + structured extended responses.
WEEK 4 – Chemical Analysis, Atmosphere & Full Consolidation
- Chromatography & Rf values
- Gas tests & ion tests
- Earth’s atmosphere & climate change
- Potable water & life cycle assessment
- Mock Paper 1 & Paper 2 practice
- Detailed correction and feedback sessions
Focus: Practical interpretation, data analysis & exam timing.
Homework & Exam Preparation
After each class:
